Our Destin campus, acquired in September 2023, is the newest and most expansive addition to the Stepping Stones Early Learning Academy family. With a licensed capacity of 200 children and 13 thoughtfully designed classrooms, this state-of-the-art facility allows us to extend our mission of faith-based early childhood education to families on the south side of Choctawhatchee Bay.
This location carries a legacy of excellence, having operated for over 20 years as the Roane School, founded by Hampton Roane and Tracy Roane of Atlanta, Georgia. Their gracious decision to entrust Stepping Stones with this beloved campus has allowed us to continue serving the Destin community with the same heart and commitment that defined the Roane School for decades.
The Destin campus offers a full range of programs—from our nurturing Infant Room to our dynamic Butterfly VPK Program—all grounded in Christian values and developmental best practices. Children benefit from a rich learning environment that includes:

Faith-Based Preschool Leader
Miss Ronni is a cornerstone of the Stepping Stones Early Learning Academy family, having been with the organization nearly since its inception. She began her journey as a dedicated two-year-old teacher at our original Niceville campus, where her passion for nurturing young children and her natural leadership quickly stood out.
When the opportunity arose to expand Stepping Stones to the Destin community, Miss Ronni was the clear choice to help launch the new campus. Her deep understanding of our mission, paired with her hands-on classroom experience, made her the perfect leader to guide the transition and establish a strong foundation for the newest addition to our family.
As Center Director at our state-of-the-art Destin campus, Miss Ronni oversees daily operations, supports staff development, and ensures that every classroom reflects our commitment to faith-based early childhood education. Her leadership is marked by warmth, consistency, and a deep love for children and families. Under her guidance, the Destin campus has quickly become a trusted provider of Christian preschool education—serving infants through VPK in a nurturing, structured, and spiritually grounded environment.
